Mr Curtis Lee Jordan
Landfill Supervisor
City of Burbank
Curtis Jordan is the Landfill Manager of the City of Burbank, California. In just 10 years, he rose through the ranks from Utility Worker to Manager of Operations of the 85-acre active landfill, two closed Landfills, and its Green/Organics transfer facility.

Through continuing training for Transfer Station Manager, Composting Manager, Landfill Operations Manager, and a host of additional SWANA courses, Jordan has streamlined the Burbank Landfill’s operations, and increased its remaining life from 35 years to 110 years, almost tripling its life span.

Jordan is a motivating force in engaging residents, public and private organizations about the reality of the handling of all types of waste, whether they are recyclable, compostable, or landfill bound. He does not sugarcoat the effects of waste and how it impacts the environment. He is well-informed on landfill management and how to apply the evolving California regulations. Jordan's expertise and practical approach contribute to his being an asset and resource in landfill engineering, mitigating pollution, extracting energy, and reclaiming land.
