As HDR's Sustainability and Resiliency Lead, Kate Bartelt's experience includes sustainability, resiliency, strategic communications, public policy, and project management. Kate has designed and implemented sustainability and resiliency management planning and programming for over 100 communities. Kate specializes in including environmental, sociopolitical, and financial expertise to develop, plan, and implement integrated waste management systems. She also brings expertise in communicating complex engineering and scientific findings with all audiences - from staff to elected officials - to find unique solutions and ensure understanding.

Kate holds degrees in Environmental Science and Science, Technology, Environmental Public Policy, and Circular Economy. She is the Solid Waste of North America (SWANA) Planning & Management Technical Division Director, and TRUE certified.
