Larry E. Ruiz, SC., is Manager of the Landfill Operations Section. Mr. Ruiz has over 30 years of experience in the solid waste management industry. Mr. Ruiz joined the Department in 2004 and prior to Hillsborough County, he worked as an environmental engineering consultant for a nationally recognized engineering corporation. Mr. Ruiz has a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University in Tallahassee, Florida. He is a Certified Manager of Landfill Operations from the Solid Waste Association of North America. Mr. Ruiz oversees the operation of the Southeast County Facilty which includes an active solid waste Landfill, Compost Facility, Waste Tire Storage Facility, Biologolical Leachate Treatment Plant, and Leachate Treatment Evaporator.
