LFG Liquids Management
Meeting Room 165

In this session we will explore two case studies:

  • In 2012, the Three Rivers Regional Solid Waste Landfill commissioned a LFG to energy project capable of providing electricity to 800-1,000 homes. It was the first green electricity production project in Pontotoc County. In recent years, facility staff noticed that "goo" pipe clogging issues were hindering operations of the LFG system and the LFG to energy facility and therefore the total energy available for sale and distribution. Through and effective chemical pipe cleaning program, LFG flows and energy production have been restored, and run times of the evaporator have improved.
  • OC Waste & Recycling (OCWR) conducted a pilot testing program evaluating the implementation of onsite treatment for the condensate waste stream generated at Prima Deshecha Landfill (PDL). The onsite system provides the high degree of treatment required to discharge the treated effluent into the municipal sewer system or to reuse the water onsite for dust control and other permitted activities.
