The Intersection Between Environmental Monitoring, Odor Control and LFG Collection and Monetization
Byers Scientific - Booth 319

Landfills expand their environmental monitoring capability as a commitment to the local community to better understand their emissions and proactively manage associated issues like odor. In fact, leveraging odor forecasting via environmental monitoring to drive operation of control systems is the future of landfill odor control. And while better understanding emission trends and tendencies and the impact of MET conditions on mitigation strategies is reason enough to justify a commitment to environmental monitoring, landfills with a methane capture and reclamation program have an additional incentive in the form of an additional revenue stream. Active 24/7 monitoring of landfill emissions can identify methane leaks which helps to not only ensure compliance with detection requirements but also support LFG energy projects which can help both the environment and the local economy.
