Avecita Jones is the Senior Program Manager for the City of Carlsbad Environmental Management Department. Avecita received a Master’s in Business Administration and Master’s in Educational Leadership degrees from the University of Texas. Avecita joined the Carlsbad in 2015 as a Management Analyst. In that role, she was assigned to a solid waste program that the city really hadn’t established or developed yet. And over the years, she has put her energy and heart to help build it up into the Sustainable Materials Management Division. Avecita is passionate about implementing programs in the city that synergistically benefit the local economy, environment and overall region! Avecita is proud to have contributed with the design and development of the city’s first Sustainable Materials Management Plan in 2019 for Carlsbad to be a leader for environmental stewardship and innovation. She is currently a Board Member for the California Resource Recovery Association (CRRA).
