Allie Omens
Zero Waste Program Coordinator
Metro Nashville Waste Services
I am a dedicated public servant and ‘creative do-er’ focused on reducing waste sent to landfill in Nashville, Tennessee. I launched and now manage the day-to-day implementation of the city’s Waste Management Plan ordinance, requiring debris reporting for large construction and demolition projects. I also advance strategic planning and special projects in other waste streams, including diverted wasted food from landfill and encouraging effective participation in Nashville’s recycling program.
In recognition of my contributions to the solid waste industry, I was named Young Professional of the Year in 2023 by the Solid Waste Association of North America.
I am a Master of Public Administration candidate at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where I also completed my undergraduate studies in Public Policy and Environmental Studies.
