Magda Correal es una experta en las industrias de gestión de residuos y reciclaje, con más de 20 años de experiencia. Es ingeniera civil con dos maestrías, una en administración de empresas y otra en ingeniería ambiental. Ha trabajado para múltiples empresas públicas y privadas incluyendo bancos multilaterales, gobiernos nacionales y locales, organizaciones sin fines de lucro, instituciones educativas, empresas de servicios públicos, entre otras. Ha realizado extensos trabajos de consultoría en toda América Latina sobre desarrollo de políticas públicas, marcos regulatorios económicos, técnicos e institucionales, análisis de costos, planificación de proyectos, estructuración y evaluación de la prestación de servicios públicos, entre otras actividades. Es autora de algunas publicaciones sobre estos temas y frecuentemente es invitada como ponente internacional en seminarios y talleres. Dirigió su propia empresa de consultoría, MAG Consultoria, durante más de 10 años y actualmente trabaja para el Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo como Especialista Senior en Gestión de Residuos. La Asociación Internacional de Residuos Sólidos (ISWA) la premió como Experta Internacional en Gestión de Residuos.
Magda Correal is an expert on waste management and recycling industries, with more than 20 years of experience. She is a civil engineer with two master’s degrees, one in business management and another one in environmental engineering. She has worked for multiple public and private companies including multilateral banks, national and local governments, non-for-profit organizations, educational institutions, public utility companies, among others. She has accomplished extensive consultancy works all over Latin America about public policies development, economic, technical and institutional regulatory frameworks, costs analysis, project planning, structuring and assessment for public utility provision, among other activities. She is the author of some publications on these matters and is frequently invited as an international speaker in seminars and workshops. She leaded her own consultancy company, MAG Consultoria, for more than 10 years and currently, she works for the Interamerican Development Bank as a Senior Waste Management Specialist. The International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) awarded her as an International Expert on Waste Management.
