As the Commercial Recycling Specialist for the Athens-Clarke County Solid Waste Department, Denise Plemmons’s role centers around education and outreach programming, including working closely with businesses, multi-family properties and non-profits to become compliant with the county’s Commercial Recycling Ordinance. With over 20 years of marketing, service, and leadership experience in the nonprofit, private, and government sectors, she offers a multi-faceted approach to waste reduction. She previously worked for the Athens-Clarke County Economic Development Department where she gained experience and made connections which expanded her ability to help businesses lessen their footprint on Athens. Due to her diverse background, she has great dexterity when relating to a broad audience of people from varying ages, education levels and occupations.
