Ramana Kari. P.E., BCEE is the Chief Engineer of the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County, and has been serving in that capacity since 2013. He is responsible for administering the operating contracts for Renewable Energy Facilities No. 1 & 2, Biosolids Processing Facility, the Recovered Materials Processing Facility, environmental compliance of all Authority facilities, public affairs, and recycling. He is also responsible for the design, permitting, and construction of the Authority’s facilities and infrastructure. Mr. Kari is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Florida and is a Board Certified Environmental Engineer (Solid Waste specialty). He holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Civil Engineering and an MBA in International Business. Mr. Kari is an active member of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA), American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Florida Engineering Society (FES) and served on the board of the American Public Works Association (APWA) Gold Coast, Florida Chapter. In 2012, Mr. Kari was named the ASCE Engineer of the Year-Palm Beach Chapter. Prior to joining the Authority, Mr. Kari was a consultant for 20 years with 3 different leading civil & environmental engineering firms managing various solid waste management and civil/environmental engineering projects for public and private clients.
