Nigel began his solid waste career in Madison, WI supporting construction activities for opening and closing landfill cells as an intern for Dane County Public Works. When he moved west to Seattle after college, he quickly had to learn what a transfer station was, as he spent a good portion of his next four years supporting design for one of King County’s upcoming facilities for HDR Engineering, Inc. Nigel recently shifted focus towards the landfill side when he transitioned to work with Herrera Environmental Consultants in early 2022. As a staff engineer at Herrera, Nigel primarily supports landfill and transfer station design and construction for a variety of consultants across the Pacific Northwest. When not talking trash (or making some other overused pun about the industry), you can find Nigel spending as much time as possible outside.
