Tackling Solid Waste Contracting Challenges
Kansas City Convention Center - Room 2101

With the solid waste and recycling industry facing unprecedented challenges from multiple, dynamic forces such as Covid, labor shortage and record inflation, local governments are likely to face higher pricing and longer-lead times in contracting for solid waste and recycling services. This presentation will identify emerging issues and strategies for local governments that contract for any of their solid waste and recycling services. This presentation is geared for local governments that may have a contract that is set to expire in the near future and wants to understand how they can best proceed with a procurement strategy. We will discuss best management practices and recent procurement for local governments that have resulted in successful public-private partnerships.
