Begin this tour with a scenic drive (with stops for photos) to picturesque Sedona, Arizona. Upon arriving in Sedona, participants will start the Sedona experience at Sedona Recycles Inc., a 501c3 not-for-profit organization with a dual mandate of recycling resources and educating the public to “reduce, reuse, and recycle”.

Sedona Recycles, Inc. (SRI) was founded in 1989 and received nonprofit status in 1990. At that time, SRI was monitoring two recycling drop-off sites with the help of 24 volunteers. in 1994, SRI was awarded a grant from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (ADEQ) for construction of the SRI material recovery facility in Sedona. The facility was completed in 1995, utilizing recycled building materials and community and volunteer participation. In 1996, following completion of the new facility, the amount of recyclable materials processed increased from one ton to three tons per day! They now service and maintain six free-to-the- public 24/7 drop-off sites and process nine tons of recyclable materials per day with a staff of 12 full and part-time employees.

Following the SRI tour, participants will head to downtown Sedona and have time to explore the area and get lunch. The return transfer to Phoenix will take a different route from the way in to allow for additional photo opportunities.

Snacks and drinks will be provided.

Dress code requirement: Closed toe shoes.

Tour Schedule Outline:

• 7:30 AM: Check-in at the Phoenix Convention Center – South Building
• 8:00 AM – 10:30 AM: Transport to Sedona/opportunity for scenic views
• 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM: Sedona Recycles facility tour
• 11:45 AM – 1:00 PM: Time for lunch/exploration in downtown Sedona
• 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM: Transport back to Phoenix Convention Center/opportunity for scenic views

If a tour capacity is reached you will have the option to be added to a waitlist. We will release people from the waitlist as/if space opens up, until Thursday, April 11. If you have not received notice of availability by that date it means the tour remains at capacity.
