Safety Summit: A Look at Injury & Illness Prevention Programs & Job Hazard Analysis

An Injury & Illness Prevention Program (IIPP) is a proactive process to help employers find and fix workplace hazards before workers are hurt. A Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) is a technique that focuses on job tasks as a way to identify hazards before they occur. This session will explain how both are valuable tools to prevent injuries and fatalities in the workplace.

IIPPs are required by Cal/OSHA but are only 'recommended' by Federal OSHA. We’ll review what makes up an IIPP, its purpose, and why all organizations should have one (not just in California).

JHAs are growing in popularity, but most people don't really know where they fit into their safety program. They can help you think about safety hazards but can also be very subjective. Find out what elements of JHAs are generally accepted and how approaches to them differ.
