More than one-third of food goes uneaten around the world. In the United States alone, 60 million tons of food is wasted annually at a cost of over $160 million. That’s why it’s imperative we find solutions to manage this organic material. In this session, Chris Lucarelle, WM Area General Manager, New England, will discuss how WM is doing just that by working with the Greater Lawrence Sanitary District to operate an advanced recycling facility to convert food waste into a renewable energy source.
