Repurposing Closed Landfills for Solar Development: Transforming Liabilities into Revenue

Solar development on distressed and closed properties landfills is becoming increasingly common  and landfill owners and operators must be aware of the opportunities before them. Legacy closed landfills are also often an environmental and financial liability for property owners. However, enhancing a property with solar can transform these liabilities into revenue and clean energy-generating assets for landowners and the community. This session provides a comprehensive overview of the solar development process on closed landfills from the site selection process through construction and commercial operation.
