Increasingly, states from coast-to-coast are drafting, introducing, and even passing Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) regulations. With the pending or new regulations, local governments are asking "How will this affect our community?" Local governments are seeking to understand the impact these regulations will have on collection programs, contracts, program infrastructure, education and outreach, enforcement and more. An expert panel will share lessons learned with real-world situations from local governments that are in various stages - from planning to implementation - of EPR programs in their communities. The session will facilitate collaboration with audience participants to share real-world experiences across the nation.
After attending this session, participants will be able to:
-
Comply with potential infrastructure changes due to EPR.
-
Participate in potential education and outreach impacts from EPR.
-
Apply potential enforcement changes from EPR.
