At the City of Tacoma’s Solid Waste Management Division, our safety innovation begins with our employees, one of the foundational pillars of “How” we as an organization accomplish our mission.  What sets our Safety Coordinator program is a grassroots effort that enlists employees from within the organization to improve our safety culture, building on the existing trust and relationships the Safety Coordinators already have amongst staff, while at the same time providing a development opportunity for our employees to gain new skills and experience.
